Damn yall listen. I been a fan of this art since the beginning. I seen many come and go. Now, as far as this kid goes, his stuff is clever. But, the next coming of Rakim?, no. The next coming of BIG?, no. The next coming of Nas?, never. The next coming of Jay?, maybe not but…and listen, I would never doubt or criticize Jamie’s opinion or Latifah’s opinion but yo, Drake is not that serious. What is going on with Hip Hop today? Is it so lame that we have to settle for this. Is it so lame that Wayne could call himself the “greatest rapper alive” when hes really not? Is it so lame that TI calls himself “King” when he’s not even the nicest. What is going on?

I feel some heat coming from over there. Drake is the first coming of Drake. I been listening to hip hop since forever and one thing I have noticed is that people always try to put new rappers in a box or category. Check it, every artist that has come out since the 90’s era has not had a fair chance. Rather than listen to their lyrical genius people try to find out who he sounds like or who he is trying to be.
I do agree with the LIL’ wayne comment though, he be saying some huff shit on records and nobody check him for it. As far as T.I. being King, it is what it is, that is his opinion.
Hip Hop is just changing and as fans we can either evolve with it or just be stuck comparing all the new shit to 90’s. JMT
